Our History
Our story begins in 1997 with founders Bruce Grant and his long-time partner Jan Stenbeck, head of the Stockholm-based Kinnevik Group. Tired of working with consultants who delivered presentations but never results, Stenbeck turned to Grant in pursuit of a better way – consultancy driven by financial value and tangible impact. Tasked with this ideal, Grant founded Applied Value as a part-external, part-internal management consultancy focused on expedient solutions and a commitment to return on investment.

Today, Applied Value carries out our founders’ vision as a fully
independent boutique management consultancy. Operating out of offices
around the world, we offer clients the global perspective of an
international firm coupled with the tailored, value-oriented approach
that makes up our DNA.
Our clients include the world’s largest and most innovative companies
and span a wide variety of industries from Automotive and Industrials to
Telecommunications and Technology. Across industries and specialties,
we target core business issues and engage clients with an unbiased,
